I am proud to combine my knowledge of physical therapy with my passion for animals. It allows me to not only help pets recover from surgery, but also to improve their mobility and quality of life as they age as well as return to their daily walks and other activities after getting injured. I hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree and have gone through extensive training in companion animal rehabilitation through VAHL Veterinary Academy of Higher Learning to work in this field.
With that being said, I follow a model similar to human healthcare with the physician managing any medical issues. While I focus on what PT are experts on: movement science, biomechanics, therapeutic modalities, hands-on treatments, and progressive exercise programs concentrating on teaching the client how to best help their pet. In this model communication is key and I will keep you updated with their progress and, most importantly, to make sure that they are following-up with you should any medical issues that arise.
NAC 638 allows veterinarians and other professionals, such as physical therapists trained in canine rehabilitation, to work together providing the best care available to pets in Nevada. However, to do so we need to keep on file a referral form for each patient establishing a veterinarian-client-patient relationship and appropriate medical diagnosis. I have tried to keep this process simple and easy as to not take too much out of your time. Please click the link to send me a referral or use the QR code to print a fillable form.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime with any questions or concerns.
