Animal Physical Therapy for Your Dog

A dog using a wheelchair for mobility support.

Choosing canine physical therapy for your dog is an important decision. At Holistic Pet PT, our dog rehabilitation services begin with a comprehensive, doctor-led evaluation to determine whether physical therapy is appropriate and how it can best support your dog’s mobility, comfort, and performance while enhancing pet mobility improvement.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Comprehensive Physical Therapy Evaluation

Comprehensive Physical Therapy Evaluation

Comprehensive Physical Therapy Evaluation

Your initial appointment for our canine physical therapy services includes:

A detailed history review (injury, surgery, lifestyle, activity level)

Full movement, gait, and functional assessment

Identification of strength, mobility, balance, and compensation patterns

Discussion of goals and priorities

Development of an individualized therapy plan for effective dog rehabilitation services.

This evaluation allows us to create a clear, targeted plan focused on pet mobility improvement — not generic exercises.

Referral information

In compliance with Nevada statutes and A.V.M.A. guidelines, a written referral for canine physical therapy services (except wellness/sports performance) is required from your treating veterinarian. To facilitate this process, there is a prescription/referral form on my website or contact us and we will be happy to send one to your veterinarian. He/she can email it back to us or you can bring it to your initial visit. After the initial evaluation, your veterinarian will receive a report detailing the objective findings, assessment, and treatment plan for your dog's rehabilitation services. Your veterinarian will also receive written and/or verbal progress reports throughout the animal's treatment. A referral is not required for wellness service, which can aid in pet mobility improvement.

Cancellation

If your pet is ill (vomiting, diarrhea, respiratory symptoms, etc.), please reschedule your canine physical therapy appointment and consult your vet. We want to ensure the best outcomes for your dog's rehabilitation services.

There is a $50 fee for cancellations less than 24 hours in advance. Emergencies are understood, but my schedule for dog rehabilitation services is usually set a week ahead. I'll do my best to accommodate changes for your pet's mobility improvement.
